This book focuses on Egypt as a representative example of emerging economies struggling to achieve their sustainable development goals (SDGs). The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted by all United Nations Member States (193) in 2015 as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. It includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in a major action programme of 169 Targets.
